Job Opportunity: Compliance and Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team in promoting compliance and environmental sustainability.

About the Role:

  • Respond to public and industry inquiries regarding their obligations under the Act.
  • Gather and assess information to identify instances of non-compliance with the Act.
  • Making recommendations to senior staff based on findings.
  • Undertake compliance activities such as audits, site visits, and assessments.
  • Draft reports on applicants' fitness and propriety to hold waste export licenses or exemptions.
  • Prepare written communication, including assessments, decision records, minutes, educational materials, and reports.
  • Independently manage a case load and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to a small team engaged in compliance work, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and independently drive compliance efforts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Dedication to objectivity and commitment to ensuring fair and equitable outcomes.
  • Desired formal qualifications in administering regulation or a related field.
