Job Role Overview

This role involves supporting clients in their daily lives, focusing on maintaining their independence and improving their overall well-being.

  • The primary function is to provide in-home care, assisting with daily living activities such as showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry and ironing.
  • Supporting clients in accordance with individualised Care Plans, which outline specific needs and goals for each client.
  • Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments, enabling clients to maintain a level of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities of the Personal Carer include:

  • Providing high-quality care services to clients within their homes, promoting dignity and respect at all times.
  • Assisting clients with their daily routines, including medication administration, personal care and domestic tasks.
  • Establishing strong relationships with clients and their families, ensuring open communication and empathy at all times.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are implemented effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate records of client interactions and care provided, adhering to relevant legislative requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Certificate III Aged Care or an equivalent qualification – Essential.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence (Green Provisional minimum) – Essential.
  • Ability to operate technology such as smartphones, tablets and laptops effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Capacity to work independently, with minimal supervision, while also being able to collaborate as part of a team.
