Livestock Career Development Opportunities

We are seeking ambitious professionals to participate in our 24-month Livestock Career Development program.

This comprehensive training and development initiative will equip participants with the skills and expertise necessary to excel as future leaders or technical experts within the Livestock Industry.

  1. Gain valuable experience in all aspects of the Livestock activity while completing a Certificate in Livestock Marketing.
  2. Participate in four leadership and skill-building workshops, focusing on business acumen, communication, and team management.
  3. Receive on-the-ground training and mentorship from experienced livestock professionals.
  4. Work in both saleyard and branch environments, developing essential skills in sales, marketing, and client relationship building.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Business skills - compliance, sales and client relationship building, communication, marketing and social media, understanding finance, problem solving, negotiation, and team management.
  • Livestock skills - next generation stock and station agency skills, livestock productivity, animal health and nutrition, Auctions Plus, auctioneering, wool technical and market requirements, and emerging technology.

Requirements:

  1. A strong desire to learn and succeed in the Livestock industry.
  2. Excellent customer service skills and strong negotiation abilities.
  3. Successful completion of secondary education.
  4. Previous work experience in the Agricultural industry, preferably in Livestock.
  5. A willingness to relocate at the conclusion or throughout the program.
  6. Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or Australian permanent residency.
  7. Completion of the Q Fever vaccination.
