We are seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our team as a Wildlife Officer. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting and conserving Queensland's native wildlife.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing veterinary nursing care and husbandry to sick, injured, and orphaned wild koalas undergoing rehabilitation. This will involve working closely with our experienced team of veterinarians and animal carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for these amazing animals.
In addition to your clinical skills, you will also assist with field-based projects, including collecting koala leaves and managing plantations. This is an exciting opportunity to work outdoors and contribute to the conservation of our unique and threatened species.
As a Wildlife Officer, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that is committed to delivering effective conservation and regulatory outcomes for Queensland's native species and ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide veterinary nursing care and husbandry to sick, injured, and orphaned wild koalas
- Assist with field-based projects, including collecting koala leaves and managing plantations
- Work collaboratively with our team of veterinarians and animal carers to deliver effective conservation outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in a relevant field (such as veterinary nursing, biology, or zoology)
- Experience in animal care and handling
