Gartner's Business Development teams play a critical role in expanding the company's presence globally. They strategically acquire new clients by cultivating trust-based relationships with C-level executives to understand their priorities and uncover opportunities for delivering client value.

\

The team drives the full sales cycle, from identifying prospects to closure and transition of new accounts to account management teams. They are relentless about building trust-based, value-added relationships with clients and delivering long-term client value.

\

The Mid-Size Enterprise (MSE) sales team targets clients with up to $1 billion in annual revenue. The Growth Strategist will seek out and drive new business opportunities with new-to-Gartner organizations across their territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Seek out and drive new business opportunities with new-to-Gartner organizations across their territory.\
  • Convert viable prospects into active Gartner clients, owning the full sales conversation and negotiation.\
  • Align the right combination of insight, guidance, and practical tools to bring value to the partnership.\
  • Continually build a pipeline of high-quality opportunities to deliver against sales metrics.\
  • \
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the target market, including key trends, challenges, and competitors.\
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with Gartner's strategic objectives.\
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies.\
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives and other decision-makers.\

  • Manage and forecast a complex sale process, ensuring accurate predictions and delivery against sales targets.\
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to stay ahead of the competition.\
  • Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes and strategies to optimize results.\
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including verbal and written communication.\
  • Build and maintain a strong network of contacts and partners to support business growth.\

  • Conduct market research and analysis to inform sales strategies and tactics.\
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Gartner's products and services to effectively communicate their value to clients.\
  • Stay organized and manage multiple priorities simultaneously to meet deadlines and deliver results.\

  • Requirements:\
    • \
    • 2-6 years' B2B sales experience, preferably within complex, intangible sales environments.\
    • Some business development or 'hunting' experience in a selling role is highly desired.\
    • Experience selling to and/or influencing C-level executives.\
    • Proven track record meeting and exceeding sales targets.\
    • Proven ability to precisely manage and forecast a complex sale process.\

    • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate the value proposition to clients.\
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.\
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.\

    • Passion for sales and business development, with a strong desire to succeed in a competitive environment.\
    • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new situations and challenges.\

    • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field such as business, marketing, or communications.\

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.com.\
    • Knowledge of CRM software and data analysis tools.\

    • Language skills: English language proficiency is required.\

    • Travel requirements: Up to 25% travel may be required for this role.\
