Regulatory Compliance Manager Job Description

Our company is seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Manager to join our team, supporting regulatory oversight across Australia and New Zealand. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help shape the compliance function.

  • Manage and maintain the Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), ensuring all procedures and processes align with regulatory expectations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for ASIC.
  • Provide trusted compliance advice across teams relating to the AFSL and Corporations Act to support the safe launch of new products and services.
  • Lead horizon scanning and regulatory change management, ensuring timely communication and implementation of updates.
  • Enhance the regulatory compliance framework, with a focus on monitoring and measuring non-financial crime regulatory risk.
  • Oversee breach reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate submissions to regulators.
  • Manage complaint handling processes in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Design and deliver targeted compliance training informed by risk assessments.
  • Prepare clear and concise reporting and insights for the Risk Committee and Board.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A strong background in regulatory compliance within financial services, ideally in payments or remittance.
  • Ideal candidates will have a background in payments or investment funds.
  • Hands-on experience working with or within an organisation holding an AFSL.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory obligations under ASIC and APRA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A hands-on, pragmatic mindset with the ability to find workable solutions and drive continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to collaborate with teams in other locations.
