Job Title: Public Service Liaison Officer

About the Role

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment to provide superior client-focused services across Queensland.

You will be responsible for managing calls for service, negotiating and conflict management skills to de-escalate callers, gathering vital information and applying the Queensland Police Service demand management framework (SOLVE) to request police resources for incident response.

  • Effective communication is key in this role, using voice communications equipment to relay data accurately to assist responding police units.
  • Research and gather information on relevant persons, vehicles, and locations using police data management systems.
  • Review incidents, assess tasks, and update incidents with relevant information swiftly and accurately.
  • Liaise with other service providers to allocate resources as required.
  • Adhere to information security policies to ensure confidentiality and proper use of systems.
  • Interpret and relay information related to legislation, policies, and procedures.
What We're Looking For

We are seeking individuals who possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing situations.

Mandatory requirements include:

  • A 24-hour, 7-day roster working 36.25 hours per week with applicable shift penalties.
  • A keyboard skills certificate with a minimum of 40 words per minute at 98% accuracy.
  • Completion of assessments including typing, call-taking simulation, and cognitive ability tests.
  • Undergoing psychological assessment.
  • An approved PEMS hearing test; regular hearing tests are required during employment.
