Job Description

The Perigon Group is a growing Western Sydney-based business with an exciting growth path through organic growth and acquisitions.

We are seeking a Financial and Tax Accountant to join our team in Western Sydney, with the option to work from home and parking available.

Under the guidance and mentoring of an experienced Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the financial and tax accounting and analysis of multiple entities within the group.

  • You will prepare month-end journals as required and review and analyze monthly results.
  • End-of-month reporting including developing reports on areas within the group.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in managing day-to-day financial performance of the business.
  • Prepare GST, FBT, and Income Tax returns and lodgments.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Manage tax payment deadlines, organize records, and lodge BAS returns.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on any discrepancies.
  • Support team members and the organization with all tax-related matters.
  • Analyze actuals against budgets and provide detailed commentary to key stakeholders.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders and identify opportunities for continuous process improvements and projects.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • CA/CPA qualification or working towards it.
  • You may be a first-time mover into a business advisory and tax or audit role.
