Job Summary
The Purchase Ledger Assistant is responsible for managing a substantial portfolio of supplier accounts. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
About the Role
- The successful candidate will register supplier invoices into the accounting system with accuracy and accessibility.
- They will also manage incoming supplier invoices, distribute post, and match invoices to orders or purchase documents.
- Daily bank reconciliation and processing of payments are also key responsibilities.
- Additionally, the candidate will process prompt payments, Bankline payments, and maintain supplier accounts.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential for answering supplier phone calls, resolving queries, and reviewing suppliers for up-to-date information.
- The role also involves reconciling supplier statements, employee expenses queries on ERP systems, and manual processing of expense and mileage claims.
- Management of petty cash balances and preparation of monthly journals in the accounting system are also important tasks.
Skill Requirements
- Prior experience in a high-volume transactional environment is required.
- A strong understanding of supplier statement reconciliations is essential.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are necessary for success in this role.
- Proficiency in IT skills, including Excel and ERP systems, is also required.
