About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Commissioning Officer to join our Victorian commissioning team. This is a hands-on role requiring broad technical knowledge and experience working on substation projects that play a key part in Australia's transition to net Zero.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead brownfield and greenfield 22kV-500kV Substation project testing and commissioning activities.
- Plan and execute outage activities.
- Track and report progress according to the project commissioning schedule.
- Conduct protection and control relay testing.
- Perform switchgear, CT & VT testing.
- Test IEC61850 systems.
- Manage drawings, ITP, and defect/RFI.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members.
- Provide diagnostic testing and maintenance services on a wide variety of electrical protection and control relays & equipment.
Requirements
- Qualifications in an Advanced Diploma of ESI Power Systems or Electrical Engineering Degree.
- Australian transmission/distribution network experience.
- Significant VESI/Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) experience in commissioning.
- Ideal relevant training in line with VESI.
- Ability to identify critical resources and act decisively to ensure works are performed safely and meet required time and cost objectives.
- Proficiency in the operation of Doble secondary injection test equipment and other primary plant test equipment.
- Experience with IEC61850 projects is desirable.
- Comfortable with travel and working outside of Melbourne.
