About the Role
The Onboarding and Connections Group at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is responsible for managing the end-to-end process for connecting and registering generators into the National Electricity Market. With over 30 years of new generation to connect, this role will play a critical part in ensuring the successful integration of renewable energy projects into the Australian electricity market.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commissioning process of multiple renewable projects to ensure they reach full operational capacity.
- Advocate for regulatory changes to support the integration of large-scale renewable energy projects into the Australian electricity market.
- Provide expert technical advice and make informed technical decisions to ensure the safe and efficient operation of renewable energy projects.
- Create a unified vision and framework for integrating diverse generation and storage technologies.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in commissioning renewable energy projects.
- Significant experience in R2 compliance requirements and R2 model validation.
- Knowledge of the electricity industry, NEM dispatch process, generator behavior, and network constraints.
- Proven experience in managing the generator commissioning process and resolving generator and power system performance issues.
