We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Manager to join our Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation team in Melbourne. As a Commissioning Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end delivery of new data center capacity for our cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the commissioning process for assigned metro projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of data center capacity.
- Develop and maintain best practices for quality and cost-effective solutions, including the creation and maintenance of commissioning procedures and standards.
- Conduct construction site inspections to review QA/QC and commissioning processes, and drive the project commissioning process, including scope and schedule.
- Coordinate meetings and activities with vendor project managers, including integration of lessons learned, and manage client representatives and partners to define and align on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Report project progress on scope, schedule, and budget weekly or as required, and provide input into a long-term delivery strategy and incorporate requirements into project execution plans.
- 7+ years of relevant technical engineering experience, or a Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Building Services, Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and 3+ years of technical engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in Data Center Construction and/or Commissioning, and at least 3 years of experience with Electrical and Mechanical test equipment.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Visio, MS Project, and MS Teams.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Commissioning Certification.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent qualification.
- NFPA-70E.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
