Zinfra is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commissioning Officer to join our Victorian commissioning team. This is a hands-on role requiring broad technical knowledge and experience working on substation projects that play a key part in Australia's transition to net Zero.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Execution: Plan and lead brownfield and greenfield 22kV-500kV Substation project testing and commissioning activities.
- Outage Management: Plan and execute outage activities to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Progress Tracking and Reporting: Track and report progress according to the project commissioning schedule.
- Protection and Control Relay Testing: Conduct testing and commissioning of protection and control relays.
- Switchgear and CT/VT Testing: Test and commission switchgear, CTs, and VTs.
- IEC61850 System Testing: Conduct testing and commissioning of IEC61850 systems.
- Drawing and ITP Management: Manage drawings and ITPs (Instruction to Procure) for the project.
- Defect and RFI Management: Identify and manage defects and RFIs (Requests for Information) during the project.
- Team Supervision and Mentoring: Supervise and mentor junior team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles.
- Diagnostics and Maintenance: Provide diagnostic testing and maintenance services on a wide variety of electrical protection and control relays & equipment.
- Qualifications: Advanced Diploma of ESI Power Systems or Electrical Engineering Degree.
- Australian Transmission/Distribution Network Experience: Significant experience working in Australian transmission/distribution networks.
- Commissioning Experience: Significant VESI/Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) experience in commissioning.
- Relevant Training: Ideally relevant training in line with VESI.
- Critical Resource Management: Capable of identifying the critical resources necessary and acting with decisiveness to ensure works are performed safely and meet required time and cost objectives.
- Test Equipment Operation: Proficient in the operation of Doble secondary injection test equipment and other primary plant test equipment.
- IEC61850 Experience: Experience with IEC61850 projects is desirable.
- Travel and Work Requirements: Comfortable with travel and working outside of Melbourne.
