About the Role
The Onboarding and Connections Group at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is responsible for managing the end-to-end process for connecting and registering generators into the National Electricity Market. With over 30 years of new generation to connect, this role is critical in ensuring the seamless integration of renewable energy sources into the grid.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commissioning process of multiple renewable projects to ensure they reach full operational capacity.
- Advocate for regulatory changes to support the integration of large-scale renewable energy projects into the Australian electricity market.
- Provide expert technical advice and make informed decisions on performance standard assessment, power system stability, system strength remediation, registration, and commissioning.
- Create a unified vision and framework for integrating diverse generation and storage technologies.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in commissioning renewable projects.
- Significant experience in R2 compliance requirements and R2 model validation.
- Knowledge of the electricity industry, NEM dispatch process, generator behavior, and network constraints.
- Proven experience in managing the generator commissioning process and assessing and solving generator and power system performance issues.
