Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at TheirCare. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing end-to-end payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including calculating employee pay, processing electronic payments, and answering employee questions.
  • Process holiday, sick, maternity, and paternity leave payments, as well as PAYG deductions and superannuation.
  • Obtain and verify direct debit banking information, tax file numbers, and superannuation details from employees.
  • Develop and review payroll policies and procedures to ensure they are current and fit for purpose.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports, and distribute fortnightly payslips to employees.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards.

Requirements:

  • A clear understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and PAYG procedures.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including active listening, for accurately answering employee questions.
  • High-level mathematical skills and knowledge of economics, accounting, and other financial concepts.
  • Computer literacy, especially confidence using office and payroll software such as Excel and MYOB Payroll.
  • Self-motivation and organisational skills to meet deadlines.
