Senior Payroll and Corporate Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll and Corporate Accounting Specialist to join our team at Mutual Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a key role in managing and delivering key payroll functions while supporting our financial reporting processes.
Job Summary- Process payroll monthly in compliance with internal procedures and legislative requirements.
- Manage payroll-related reporting, including leave reconciliation, payroll tax, and year-end reporting.
- Support financial reporting, including staff budget preparation, payroll-related invoicing, and audit queries.
- Act as the key point of contact for our Tech team for the end-to-end management of the Dayforce payroll system implementation.
- Assist with payroll compliance across multiple states, covering WorkCover and payroll tax obligations.
- Respond to payroll queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement and manage the Dayforce payroll system, ensuring seamless transition from Preceda.
- Develop and maintain accurate payroll-related reports, including leave reconciliation, payroll tax, and year-end reporting.
- Collaborate with the Finance and People & Culture teams to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance with legislation, and continuous improvement of payroll systems.
- Provide expert advice on payroll-related matters, including payroll processing, reporting, and compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Tech team members, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or commerce.
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience, with payroll processing experience essential.
- Experience with payroll system implementations, ideally Dayforce or Preceda.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Xero or other cloud-based accounting systems.
- IT proficiency, particularly in Excel for managing payroll data.
- A competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
