Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced analyst to join our underwriting and product team in Brisbane.

This role involves leading the analysis of home insurance trends, sales, pricing and claims data to drive business improvement and automation.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting underwriting processes, delivering improvements and testing new developments.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Support the continuous improvement of underwriting and home products through data-driven insights.
  • Provide portfolio reporting and monitoring, including analysis of trends, referrals, discounting, sales, policies and claims data.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining business rules supporting Underwriting Guidelines and Policies across IT systems.
  • Assist with testing of system solutions and new developments.
  • Monitor competitors' activities and market trends.
  • Provide support to team members, specifically around various reporting systems and tools.
  • Assist with underwriting decisions in line with authority limits, applicable policies and guidelines.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Interest in general insurance products, underwriting or claims.
  • Tertiary qualification in mathematics, IT, business, economics, actuarial science, or related discipline.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory regimes, compliance and legislation covering insurance is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
