Strategic HR Business Partner

Job Description:

  • Role Overview
  • This role involves shaping the future of people strategy and partnering closely with senior leaders to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • As a strategic thinker, you will be embedded within the Human Resource Advisory & People Solutions team, influencing enterprise-wide change and aligning people strategies with global and local business priorities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Strategic Partnership & Influence
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders to ensure HR strategy aligns with business objectives.
  • Provide expert counsel across leadership development, workforce planning, organisational culture, and change management.
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Mentor and guide the HR Advisory team, acting as deputy to the General Manager, Human Resources Australia.
  • Foster a high-performance, future-ready HR function.
  • Human Resource Strategy & Execution
  • Design and deliver forward-looking HR plans.
  • Lead enterprise projects and leverage workforce analytics to drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Employee Relations & Risk Management
  • Advise on complex workforce matters and organisational change.
  • Collaborate with Workplace Relations to resolve sensitive issues.
  • Change Leadership
  • Champion structural and cultural transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with policy, timely execution, and effective communication across stakeholder groups.
  • Talent & Succession Planning
  • Identify and nurture key talent.
  • Build robust succession pipelines and support mobility strategies where necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 15+ years' experience in strategic HR business partnering within complex, mid-to-large organisations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking, and influencing capabilities.
  • Commercial acumen, collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-impact outcomes.
  • Confidence in navigating complex conversations and applying data to guide decisions.
