The Transport Supervisor will oversee the efficient transportation distribution services to personnel, managing the loading and unloading, movement, and transportation of goods. This role requires timely advice to department management on local transportation support and liaison with stakeholders, employees, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of Transport specialists, including day and shift workers, and coordinate shift coverages due to personnel absences or Site events.
- Create and manage bus rosters covering all required runs, including alternating schedules for public holidays and other instances as needed.
- Coordinate transport requirements for special events.
- Prepare loads for transportation within regulatory guidance.
- Conduct basic pre-inspections of vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and report any faults to the Transport Supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements.
- Maintain tracking of all appropriate licenses and endorsements for Site employees and Transport specialists, providing training or upskilling where relevant.
- Maintain vehicles in a clean and presentable condition, ensuring registration and insurance requirements are met.
- Maintain records of registration and insurance for all vehicles.
- Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions, and trainings, encouraging a safety-focused culture, and participating in and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision.
- Certificate in Logistics/Transport Operations.
- Current Driver's License.
- Forklift License.
- H Endorsement.
- HR License.
- Experience in transportation roles.
- Leadership and Management.
- Knowledge of Transport Regulations.
- The position is desk-based and sedentary in nature, with occasional lifting of items up to 5kgs.
- Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting, and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and the ability to work under deadlines.
- The ability to lift items up to 10kgs independently.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to fluently read, write, and speak English.
- Australian or US citizen.
