Job Title: Storeperson - Food Services Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Storeperson to join our Food Services team at SchoolHouse Australia. As a Storeperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the inventory of food and beverage items, ensuring that all stock is accurately recorded and stored in a clean and organized manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain stock levels of food and beverage items, including perishable goods and chemicals.
  • Stock Control: Label items with storage details, place goods in correct containers and on racks, and check dates and rotate stock.
  • Deliveries: Accept delivery of stock, ensure stock is not damaged, and complete temperature checks for milk, bread, meat, and specified products.
  • General Duties: Place mats down in the kitchen, fill drink machines, water buckets for drink machines, check dining room and kitchen rubbish bins, and check on chemicals in washrooms and dispensers.
  • Cleaning: Keep all store room, cold room, and freezer areas at the highest level of sanitation and cleanliness, clean drink machines, clear loading dock of cardboard, and hose down and mop the loading dock daily.
  • Breakfast Service: Assist with breakfast service, wash breakfast dishes and cutlery as required.
  • Functions: Package and send out completed orders for trips/functions, move function items to function areas, and deliver function items to offsite areas.
  • Team Work: Work cohesively as a team member and assist team members to ensure all work tasks are completed.
  • Food Safety: Ensure all food safety procedures are followed as per the Food Safety Manual.
  • Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S): Ensure a safe and hazardous-free workplace environment by reporting any health and safety hazards and complying with the School's occupational health and safety policy.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Must have experience working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, preferably in a school environment or similar.
  • Qualifications: Must have a Working with Children Check, Police Check, and a current Full Driver's Licence for a manual vehicle.
  • Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of current food safety practices and standards, demonstrated understanding of infection control, manual handling, and hazard identification, and demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
