About the Role

Mater Misericordiae Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Food Service Assistant to join our dynamic team in a permanent, part-time capacity. As a Food Service Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our patients and service partners, ensuring a high-quality food service experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with general cleaning duties, including the cleaning of pots and pans, to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Ensure that all sliced meat products are handled, recorded, and documented in accordance with food safety principles.
  • Mince and puree meal products to meet recipe requirements.
  • Verify that all cooked and minced meat products are in date prior to use.
  • Ensure all packaged products are correctly labelled, packaged, and vacuum-sealed.
  • Take daily retention samples of food products to maintain quality control.
  • Ensure dispatch trolleys are not overloaded and are correctly labelled and filled.
  • Advise the Head Chef if production products are missing or unable to be sent.
  • Unload cook/chill production trolleys onto food bank shelves, ensuring products are correctly placed.
  • Liaise with the Head Chef to assist with coordination of kettle production schedules.
  • Maintain retention samples and wastage sheets to track food usage.
  • Clean and sanitize dispatch/food bank machines and equipment after each use.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A strong understanding of food safety principles and basic hygiene practices.
  • The ability to achieve goals and objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A Certificate in Occupational Hygiene is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a comparable position is highly desirable.
