Workshop Manager Job Description

The role of Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a heavy vehicle workshop. This includes ensuring safe management and optimal operation of the workshop, as well as maintaining vehicles to the highest standard.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage team members to foster a productive and positive work environment
  2. Coordinate staff training, rosters, and manage underperformance and disciplinary matters in conjunction with HR and senior management
  3. Manage workshop financials and administrative functions
  4. Maintain quality checks and routine vehicle service requirements
  5. Provide technical support to branch managers and coordinate major jobs in consultation with operational staff
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
  • NSSW Trade Licence
  • Diagnostics ability and skillset to complete required repairs
  • Minimum Class C Licence and/or willingness to obtain an HR Licence
  • Previous management experience in the heavy vehicle industry
