Heavy Vehicle Fitter Role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Fitter to join our skilled Workshop team based in Newcastle. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks including workshop installations, pre-delivery inspections, fabrication and installation of subframes, and service duties of new and used vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders.

  • Fabrication and installation of subframes from design to development and manufacture
  • Installation of new cranes to industry standards
  • Service duties of new and used vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders
  • Preparation of annual inspection certificates
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to site policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Prior experience working in a similar heavy vehicle maintenance industry
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical, Fabrication Trade, or equivalent
  • Experience working on heavy vehicles
  • Experience with cranes and/or hook loaders (an advantage)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely
  • Good time management and work prioritisation skills
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical and National Police Check
