About the Role

  • This is an exciting opportunity to work in restaurants that provide guests with a luxurious fine dining experience, including greeting and seating guests, preparing drinks, taking orders, serving food, clearing tables, cashiering functions, and other duties as directed.
  • You will ensure that service is performed in accordance with the outlet 'Sequence of Service' standards, maintaining a clean and tidy environment, and adhering to Food Safe handling standards.
  • We are responsible for the service of alcohol, and relevant House Policies must be maintained at all times.
  • This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to connect personally with guests, individualise the service, and exceed expectations.
  • As part of our team, you will work together to achieve the Hamilton Island mission, embracing split shifts and job share arrangements when necessary.
  • This position demands the ability to stand for long periods, handle potential conflict, and manage stressful situations.

About You

  • You must be over 18 years old to apply, and have at least 12 months of experience working in degustation, fine dining, and award-winning/hatted restaurants.
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate their knowledge of sequence of service required for a quality dining experience, understand menu item elements and ideal wine pairings, and possess the ability to carry heavy trays and plates.
  • We are seeking individuals who can take responsibility for their work, pride in their performance, and adapt well to new work structures, processes, and cultures.
  • A valid Nationally recognised or QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate is required, along with an Australian food safety certificate (desirable) and a current Driver Licence (desirable).
