Role Details

We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead our underground technical team and support the continued success and longevity of our Broken Hill mine.

As the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership across mine planning, geology, survey, ventilation, and other technical functions, ensuring technical excellence and driving innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of technical professionals including mining engineers, geologists, surveyors, and ventilation officers.
  • Oversee the preparation of mine plans, schedules, and designs to achieve production and business targets.
  • Provide technical input into life-of-mine planning and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Foster collaboration between operations, maintenance, and technical teams to optimise performance.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and cost management.
Requirements
  • You are a collaborative leader with a strong technical background in underground mining, bringing a balance of operational experience and strategic vision.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in underground hard rock mining (preferably base metals).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing technical services teams.
  • Strong knowledge of mine planning, design, and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
