Rates Officer Role

Expand your knowledge in Local Government operations, working in a dynamic team environment.

This role offers opportunities to develop your career in local government, collaborating with a multi-skilled team responsible for Rates and Revenue services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing sale/transfer notices and changes of address
  • Calculating and processing pensioners rebates
  • Investigating returned Rates Notices
  • Issuing rates notices and amending accounts for domestic waste services
  • Invoicing sundry debts

Requirements:

  • Higher School Certificate level education or TAFE equivalent, or proven experience in a similar position
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team
  • Database maintenance skills
  • Prepare routine correspondence and reports
  • Demonstrated experience in customer communication
  • Experience in local government is desirable

The successful candidate will have strong ability to communicate with customers, proficiency in database maintenance, and excellent organizational skills. They will also have a strong understanding of Local Government operations and policies.
