Rating Officer Job Description

The primary role of the Rating Officer is to support the Rates team in delivering quality services to stakeholders. The incumbent will be responsible for processing and administering Council's rates related activities in accordance with Council policy and procedures.

  • Key duties include:
  • Processing rates related activities such as notices of sale, waste management charges, section 603 certificates, pensioner rebate processing, department of housing payment files, levy supplementary rates and valuation changes, cancellation of levies, general rating tasks and enquiries, debt recovery and investigations.
  • Reconciliation of the Rating System to the General Ledger, Valuer General and Waste Services.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in Business/Accounting or similar, a driver's license (Class C) - NSW, greater than 5 years of experience in rates, and moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
