About the Role

This position involves training and developing pharmacy staff, optimising service outcomes, and performing regular practice and performance reviews to uphold high standards of competence. As a key contact for clinicians and service units regarding pharmacy-related issues, you will play an essential role in facilitating seamless communication and support across the department. The successful candidate will lead within the department by developing, reviewing, and teaching workplace policies and procedures, while managing a specific portfolio that contributes to outcomes across the entire pharmacy service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on medication management and clinical guidelines to healthcare professionals
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve patient safety and health outcomes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal medication use and minimise risks
  • Conduct regular audits and quality assessments to identify areas for improvement
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members to enhance their skills and expertise

Requirements

  • Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification
  • Registration as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
