About the Role

As a highly skilled Occupational Therapist, you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic health environment at Southern Adelaide Local Health Network. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients receiving supported early discharge and home rehabilitation within the SALHN metropolitan area.

You will work collaboratively with other staff members, the Manager Home Outreach and Telerehabilitation, and the Director Occupational Therapy as part of the Ambulatory Rehabilitation team.

The role involves providing occupational therapy services to patients through various technologies, including iPads, videoconferencing equipment, and therapeutic apps. You will also participate in interdisciplinary clinical and planning activities to enhance the overall service provided to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to Home, Outreach, and Telerehabilitation patients
  • Participate in clinical and planning activities to improve patient outcomes
  • Link patients and carers with relevant community resources and services
  • Provide information to patients and their relatives about level of functioning and ongoing management
  • Document assessment findings and interventions
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess high levels of responsibility and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, and delegate tasks effectively. This includes supervising students, allied health assistants, and junior staff.

You will have high-level interpersonal, negotiating, counselling, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, professional staff, and community agencies both verbally and in writing.

A degree or other qualification that entitles registration as an occupational therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia is essential. Additionally, you will need proven experience in delivering high-quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
