Job Title: Infrastructure Specialist

This is a key role that requires an individual with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills to oversee and manage third-party access to road, stormwater, cycling, and footpath infrastructure across the municipality.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that access and restoration activities comply with Council's engineering standards and relevant legislation. They will also support the timely rollout of programs such as Road Naming and Alcohol-Free Zones.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage applications for road openings, footpath occupations, filming permits, hoardings, and other road reserve uses
  • Provide technical guidance and enforce conditions under the Roads Act (Section 138)
  • Monitor developer and contractor compliance, addressing non-conformance issues promptly
  • Facilitate implementation of Council initiatives such as Road Naming and Alcohol-Free Zones
  • Maintain accurate records, support public liability investigations, and contribute to policy reviews
  • Deliver projects and programs on time and within budget, meeting quality, safety, environmental, and stakeholder expectations

Key Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the Roads Act, municipal infrastructure, and road authority responsibilities
  • Proven experience in managing access to and impacts on public infrastructure
  • Sound understanding of road restoration standards, vehicular crossings, hoardings, and mobility access
  • Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence
