About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Court Support Practitioner to deliver high-quality services including crisis intervention, court support, DVO assistance, safety planning, counseling, intake support, and community education within our mission, values, and vision framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • We provide clients with understanding of Court processes and support them inside the Court room, including support to comprehend the Magistrate and legal terminology interpretation.
  • We conduct risk assessments and make referrals as needed, including Domestic and Family Violence specialist support, legal advice, and other required services.
  • We work closely with all Court stakeholders to ensure safety.
Requirements
  • You must hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Science from a recognized institution.
  • You should have a well-developed understanding of the Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act, and Family Law Act, as well as issues affecting families involved in these systems.
  • You must demonstrate a well-developed practice framework for domestic and family violence and its implications on child safety, family law, and mental health.
  • You need to possess a current Blue Card and Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check.
  • You must be eligible to work in Australia.
