Youth Support Specialist

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth require dedicated professionals who can provide high-quality, culturally safe, trauma-informed counseling and therapeutic support. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Darwin region.
About the Role:The Social Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care for youth and their families. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:- Support clients presenting with intergenerational trauma, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, anger management, grief and loss, sleep disturbance, domestic violence, sexual problems, relationship issues, and substance misuse.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of clients.
- Advanced qualifications in social work, psychology, counseling, or related fields.
- Current membership/registration with relevant professional associations.
- A minimum of two years' experience working in a related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and history, as well as awareness of social, health, and wellbeing issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
