The position of Violence Program Support Specialist is pivotal in ensuring that individuals impacted by family, domestic, and sexual violence receive safe and high-quality support.

This role involves providing real-time operational guidance to frontline staff, monitoring service operations, and facilitating the delivery of risk assessments and exit strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Offering immediate operational support to frontline staff.
  • Conducting regular reviews to identify potential risks and ensure operational continuity.
  • Providing expert guidance on complex safety planning and referrals as needed.
  • Reviewing and approving financial support packages.
  • Managing appeals and complex case escalations.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, criminology, or community practice.
  • Registration with a professional body such as the Australian Counselling Association or the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • At least 4 years of experience in family, domestic, and sexual violence services.
  • An in-depth understanding of trauma-informed care and safety planning for high-risk cases.
