About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Intake Worker to join their team. This is a full-time and part-time ongoing opportunity, with a focus on delivering strength-based, client-centred support and services.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related field, and demonstrated skills and experience in trauma-informed practice. Experience working with victim-survivors of family violence is desirable, as well as the ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The role involves conducting risk assessments and safety planning over the phone for victims of family violence, making referrals to other services as needed, and maintaining accurate records of all transactions. The successful candidate will also participate in initiatives to maintain a positive and collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support and service delivery to consumers nationally in response to client demand and operational needs.
  • Conducting Risk Assessments and Safety planning over the phone for victims of family violence.
  • Making referrals to other services for those in danger or at risk of family violence.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of all payment transactions, contributing to regular monitoring and reporting requirements.
  • Actively participating in initiatives to maintain, build upon and promote a positive and collaborative workplace.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related field.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience working with victim-survivors of family violence (desirable).
  • Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
