Role Overview

AECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead large, multi-disciplinary projects across various sectors in the Victoria and South Australia markets.

About the Role

This is an Associate Director-level position that requires a strong technical background and leadership skills. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering successful project outcomes while mentoring and developing junior engineers within the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex projects across aviation, health, defence, or infrastructure sectors, serving as both Project Manager and Design Manager to ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain and enhance technical expertise within the electrical engineering team, acting as the primary point of contact for resolving technical queries and challenges on projects.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing coaching, guidance, and support to foster growth and professional development within the team.
  • Collaborate with Team and Project Leads to ensure effective resource allocation, project planning, and driving business growth across the division.
  • Work closely with Technical Directors and the Building Services Practice Lead to maximize technical output, elevate client service, and pursue strategic project opportunities.
Requirements
  • 14+ years' experience within the Electrical Engineering field with extensive experience in designing and delivering Building Services projects across Australia.
  • Educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering alongside appropriate membership and accreditation (CPEng and RPEV).
  • Demonstrated track record in leading major, multidisciplinary projects, preferably in aviation, health, defence, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Outstanding technical capability within the Electrical Engineering field with a strong working knowledge of Australian standards, building codes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Firm commitment to sustainability principles and engineering best practices.
