We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to become a key member of our Power Utilities teams based in Brisbane or Sydney.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing detailed designs, developing specifications, and interfacing with other disciplines, construction, commissioning, management, and clients on design issues.

The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with in-house construction teams and our clients to effectively deliver on expectations.

  1. Planning and conducting professional engineering work on EHV/HV Systems such as Protection, SCADA, Communications, Data Networks, etc.
  2. Providing detailed design services, consulting, recommending, and advising on areas including Protection Detailed Design, Equipment Specification and Procurement, Protection & Control Schematics, Grid Metering, Power Quality, Monitoring Installations, Load flow, Fault level and dynamic studies, Network/Data Network Architecture, Control System Design, Communication Systems, Power Generation, and system integration.
  3. Providing technical support for Business Development and Tendering.
  4. Assisting with site commissioning as required.
  5. Assuming the role of Design Leader when needed.
  6. Planning, coordinating, and mentoring other engineers.
  7. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Key requirements include:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in design, integration, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems for high voltage power systems.
  • Knowledge of secondary system design from concept to detailed design, preferably in a utility or consultancy environment.
  • Strong skills in Power System Protection and Automation software, equipment, and products.
  • Proactive in improving performance and efficiencies.
  • Safety-conscious attitude.
  • Stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent relationship building, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
