**Local Permitting Specialist Role**

Job Description

The position of Local Permitting Specialist is a critical role in fostering economic development and growth within communities by streamlining permitting processes.

This individual will act as a liaison between local governments, community partners, and our organization to ensure compliance with regulations and optimize deployment targets.

  • Gather and analyze permitting data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Negotiate guidelines and specifications with governing entities to meet company requirements.
  • Develop and implement databases and catalog systems to document regulatory information.
  • Collaborate with the Network Implementation team to resolve roadblocks and optimize build processes.
  • Analyze local ordinance related to broadband providers, permits, grants, and community development.
Required Skills and Qualifications

This role requires a strong background in permit management, government relations, and project coordination. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in/with permit offices and key public sector elected officials and staff.
  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and negotiate effectively with governing entities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and analytical tools to manage data and drive decision-making.
