Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Health and Safety Coordinator for a 13-month contract to coordinate health and safety practices, procedures, and policies in order to create a safe environment that aligns with company values.

This role involves providing technical advice and support on the Safety Management System application across all departments.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing Health and Safety Systems in compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Maintaining systems to manage employee exposure to industrial hazards.
  • Providing employees with adequate skills and knowledge regarding safe systems of work, policies and procedures to enable them to carry out their work in a safe environment.

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of site hygiene monitoring and fitness for work programs.
  • Managing workers compensation and rehabilitation processes.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the site Emergency Response and Crisis Management Plans.

About You:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of QLD statutory obligations relevant to Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety at a minimum.
  • Hold a certificate in Rehabilitation Coordination and previous experience with Workers Compensation cases.
  • Able to follow a plan and the resilience to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
