Job Title: Health and Safety Coordinator

The Newlands Closure Project is a rehabilitation and closure project that requires a motivated Health and Safety Coordinator to oversee health and safety practices, procedures, and policies.

This role involves:

  • Providing technical advice and support on safety management systems across all departments.
  • Developing and implementing health and safety systems in compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Implementing site hygiene monitoring and fitness for work programs.
  • Managing workers compensation and rehabilitation processes.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of emergency response and crisis management plans.
  • Maintaining systems to manage employee exposure to industrial hazards.
  • Ensuring employees have adequate skills and knowledge regarding safe systems of work, policies, and procedures.

About You:

  • Hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety at a minimum.
  • Have experience with workers compensation cases and hold a certificate in rehabilitation coordination.
  • Align your high regard for personal safety and team safety with company values.
  • Be able to follow a plan and adapt to a constantly changing environment. Demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to proactive working.
  • Be a team player with high safety awareness, outstanding performance attitude, and willingness to contribute to a winning team.
