Job Overview

The Procurement Lead role is pivotal in ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services for major infrastructure projects.

  • Collaborate with project managers to develop procurement strategies and execution plans
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors using value-for-money approaches
  • Manage procurement deliverables, including tender processes and award proposals
  • Forecast procurement needs and schedules, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services
  • Oversee inventory control and compliance with procurement procedures
  • Liaise with cost control managers to maintain asset registers and track assets
  • Assist in compiling data for monthly procurement reporting
  • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks
Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in project procurement management, preferably within electrical major infrastructure or construction projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large procurement packages from conception through implementation
  • Experience working on PPP-electrical transmission line/substation projects
  • Sound knowledge of civil construction materials and services
  • Ability to meet deadlines and targets under pressure
  • Evidence of strategic thinking and commercial acumen
