Job Title: Book Acquisitions Specialist

The successful candidate will play a key role in the buying process for books, including sourcing products from suppliers and analyzing trends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the buying process by identifying and selecting relevant book titles.
  • Liaising with book publishers, marketing teams and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Managing the book merchandise team calendar to schedule meetings with key suppliers.
  • Working closely with the Marketing team to prepare marketing materials, including proofreading and finalizing content.
  • Collaborating with the Website team to ensure that key products are being actively promoted.
  • Assisting in the preparation of collateral for meetings, negotiations and conferences.
  • Developing and implementing monthly promotions to drive sales and engagement.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in the book industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive business results.
  • Passion for books and reading, with a deep understanding of the market and its trends.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
