The primary objective of this role is to prepare the monthly payroll for 180 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This involves calculating and preparing new starters and termination pays, as well as managing leave requests and employee expense claims. The Payroll Officer will also be responsible for reconciling payroll, superannuation payments, bonuses, and authorised payroll deductions, while maintaining compliance with all workers compensation insurance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare accurate and timely monthly payroll for 180 employees
- Calculate and prepare new starters and termination pays, ensuring seamless transitions
- Manage leave requests and employee expense claims, ensuring accurate recording and reimbursement
- Reconcile payroll, superannuation payments, bonuses, and authorised payroll deductions, ensuring financial integrity
- Ensure compliance with all workers compensation insurance requirements in all states
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure year-end reporting and administration are completed accurately and on time
- Previous experience in a similar end-to-end payroll position
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislative and statutory requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
