National Bridge Lead

About this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled National Bridge Lead to join our team and play a key role in growing and leading our bridge engineering capability across Australia.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional with extensive industry experience as a Bridge Engineer, recognised by clients at state level.

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree in civil engineering, familiarity with Australian Standards in current engineering and construction principles, methods and practices, and a track record of delivering complex multidisciplinary projects on time and to budget.

  • Main responsibilities:
  • Plan, organise and lead project teams in the delivery, design and documentation of project requirements;
  • Lead contract negotiations, including variations, claims and commercial disputes;
  • Project management and technical leadership across various multi-disciplined projects;
  • Organise business development and strategic initiatives, including proposal preparation;
  • Maintain high technical standards, compliance with our business systems, and develop and maintain client relationships;
  • Mentor and develop technical staff;
  • Provide vision and leadership to team members;
  • Hire and expand the team;
  • Liaise with other business sector leaders within and outside the organisation;
  • Approve employee time, expenses and other management functions needed for day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree in civil engineering;
  • Extensive industry experience as a Bridge Engineer recognised by clients at state level;
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards in current engineering and construction principles, methods and practices;
  • A track record of delivering complex multidisciplinary projects on time and to budget;
  • Professional Engineer registration with Engineers Australia or other relevant country registration;
  • Experience and interest in business development initiatives, and in the development and maintenance of client relations;
  • Effective communication and analytical skills.
