About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Student Support Coordinator to join our Student Services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting students, particularly those at educational risk, to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement a range of interventions, programs, and initiatives to promote improved educational outcomes for all students.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address student needs, and develop individualized support plans.
  • Provide mentoring support, parent liaison, and inter-agency collaboration to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
  • Participate in case conferences, risk assessment/management, and attendance management to ensure student wellbeing.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive records, including individual behavior support plans, attendance plans, and well-being and risk management plans.
Requirements
  • Well-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Research, conceptual, and analytical skills to identify problems and develop appropriate intervention strategies and support programs.
  • Experience working with individual or small groups of students who are experiencing difficulties.
  • Knowledge of the youth sector, particularly local organizations and services.
