Grow Well Coordinator

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grow Well Coordinator to join our Kalpa Purru Wirranjarlki – Public Health Services Section in Tennant Creek.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the development, establishment, and maintenance of structures and processes to support the establishment of primary health care services for the Barkly Region. This includes working with communities to improve knowledge and practice in mother and child nutrition, and providing support to individuals and families caring for children aged 0-5 years old.
Key Responsibilities- Establish community engagement and decision-making structures to develop and implement strategies that meet the goals and objectives of the program.
- Deliver a program that improves community knowledge and practice in mother and child nutrition through referrals and participation in joint nutrition education activities with the Anyinginyi Community Nutritionist.
- Refer cases of poor nutrition, particularly failure to thrive and anemia, to the Anyinginyi Community Nutritionist.
- Organise health promotion events and deliver education sessions to community members and students at schools across the Barkly Region.
- Undertake detailed action planning within a community development framework that responds to the needs of local children and families at risk.
- Maintain knowledge of primary health issues, including hygiene and nutrition.
- Confidentiality at all times.
- Understanding of the needs of small children aged 0-5 years old and the needs of people who care for them.
- Ability to work in a collaborative and supportive manner with colleagues and external clients.
- Ability to plan, prepare, and undertake travel to communities in the South Barkly Region.
