Tackling Indigenous Smoking Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation in the role of Tackling Indigenous Smoking Coordinator.
You will be part of a small team responsible for developing and implementing programs aimed at reducing tobacco smoking in Aboriginal communities within the Barkly Region.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse community groups.
Key responsibilities will include community engagement, program coordination, and project management to achieve outcomes that reduce the prevalence of smoking in Aboriginal communities.
This role requires a high level of cultural competence and an understanding of the importance of traditional cultures, values, and protocols in the delivery of health services.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced candidate who is passionate about improving Aboriginal health outcomes and reducing the impact of tobacco smoking in our community.
- Develop and implement programs aimed at reducing tobacco smoking in Aboriginal communities.
- Coordinate community engagement activities and events to promote tobacco awareness and cessation.
- Manage projects to achieve outcomes that reduce the prevalence of smoking in Aboriginal communities.
- Work effectively with diverse community groups to develop and implement programs.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support the delivery of culturally responsive health services.
Essential requirements include a minimum Cert. III in Aboriginal Health or equivalent, experience working in Aboriginal community health or welfare services, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable requirements include experience and knowledge of the Tennant Creek and Barkly Region, as well as knowledge of the Barkly Region and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
