About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sample Receipt Officer to join our dedicated team at ALS Limited. As a key member of our Sample Receipt team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the completion of Chain of Custody (COC) protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist clients by phone and in person, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Process incoming sample deliveries into the laboratory, including the sorting and labelling of samples, ensuring accurate and timely provision of labelled samples to the appropriate laboratory sections.
  • Read and understand client Chain of Custody (CoC) documentation, including analytical testing requirements, and accurately enter information from the clients CoC documentation into the ALS LIMS system.
  • Liaise with clients (internal and external) regarding sample submissions and related queries, providing clear and concise communication and resolving any issues in a timely manner.
  • Manually move samples and eskies around the laboratory, utilizing provided equipment, and maintaining a clean and tidy work environment.
  • Maintain an excellent standard of occupational health and safety, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Laboratory or Chemistry experience or qualifications preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good presentation, professional attitude and attention to detail, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Demonstrated reliability and efficiency, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A good level of computer literacy, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Ability to absorb and retain high levels of information, with a strong attention to detail and ability to process large volumes of samples and records efficiently and within strict timeframes.
