About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at ENGIE. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and compliant delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and administer ENGIE's health and safety management systems at project sites, developing and verifying contractor compliance with approved systems of work.
  • Communicate ENGIE's expectations for safe work practices and behaviors, promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Supervise contractor activities daily to ensure works are conducted safely, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Develop and implement safety initiatives, considering feedback from stakeholders, to promote a culture of safety excellence.
  • Manage contractor compliance with ENGIE's lifesaving rules and One ENGIE Safety program, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Review and audit contractor safety systems and documentation, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Participate in risk workshops, toolbox talks, and daily pre-start meetings, contributing to the development of key health and safety strategies.
  • Conduct incident investigations, critically reviewing contractor reports and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare monthly H&S reports, tracking performance against key indicators.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will have experience with HSE management plans and systems for construction sites, with a proven track record of managing contractors to meet and exceed safety requirements. You will possess knowledge of principal contractor and asset owner HSE responsibilities, with the ability to instill a safety-first mindset in others.

Qualifications in WHS (Cert IV) and first aid training are essential, with a construction white card either held or willing to be obtained.
