About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Officer to support the delivery of the Goorambat Solar Farm by ensuring the project is constructed in a safe and compliant manner.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily supervision and oversight of the EPC contractor activities to ensure works are conducted in accordance with approved safety management systems and plans.

The incumbent will be accountable to the Head of Operations & HSE and will be based at the project site in Victoria.

This is a full-time role and will be available until the Goorambat Solar Farm is constructed and commissioned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and administer ENGIE's health and safety management systems at the project site.
  • Communicate ENGIE's expectations in relation to safe work practices and behaviours.
  • Daily supervision of contractor's activities to ensure works are conducted safely.
  • Propose and implement safety initiatives within the work site that promotes a positive safety culture.
  • Management of contractor compliance against ENGIE's lifesaving rules and One ENGIE Safety program.
  • Review and audit contractor safety systems and documentation.
  • Attend and actively participate in risk workshops, toolbox, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) and daily pre-start meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plans regarding key health and safety strategies, issues and risks.
  • Participate in and conduct incident investigations and critically review contractor's incident investigation reports.
  • Prepare monthly H&S report including reporting against H&S performance indicators.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have experience with the application of HSE management plans and HSE management systems for construction sites and have managed contractors to meet and/or exceed safety requirements.

You will have knowledge and understanding of the requirements of a principal contractor and the asset owner's HSE responsibilities and have the ability to instil a safety-first mindset to others.

You must have qualifications in WHS (Cert IV), be first aid trained and either have or be willing to attain a construction white card.
