Medical Reception Role

The medical receptionist plays a vital role in providing exceptional support to the clinical team and clients at our headspace centre.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing superior secretarial and reception services to young people, clinical and management staff.
  • Taking incoming calls and directing the caller to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Appointment scheduling and maintenance of client records.
  • General office duties including opening and distribution of mail, typing, scanning, filing and archiving.
  • Assisting in the closing and securing of the building at the end of the day.
  • Typing of medical letters to members of the clinical team.

Requirements for the role include:

  • A minimum of a Cert III in Medical Administration or similar qualification.
  • Excellent administration, time management and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the health sector and an ability to liaise with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven record in working closely with and being a successful member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Well-developed customer service skills.
  • Ability to think and act calmly and deal sensitively with distressed people.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
  • Understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality.
